Yes, there are many types of Addictions that we are all Addicted to. However, we are Not going to help you by analyzing your entire past.
This is one of the reasons Dr. Mitch learned quickly that having an Addiction was so powerful that just by analyzing your past did absolutely nothing to help you. Instead, I became much more concentrated on your present Situation, Thoughts, Feelings, Support Group and Triggers etc. I also learned that with any Addiction the person has to be highly motivated to make these changes in their life. That this Motivation must be long lasting & they must have a support team that they put in place, when they learn to recognize their Early Signs/Triggers.
We look at Addictions as a place in our Brain (Pleasure Zone) that Craves this Euphoric Feeling (Extreme Sensations of Pleasure). The Addicted Person Needs and Craves these Feeling and is determined to obtain this Euphoria, No Matter the Consequence. Example: If I am a Drug Addict I will do anything to get my Fix even if I have to Rob a Bank to get the Money for the Drug, which in turn, gives the Addict these Feeling. These Feeling are Extremely Powerful and takes Control of all your Cognitive Functions such as Logic or Rational thinking. Therefore, This Person has No Sensitivity to others and only is thinking of themselves (Obsessing about obtaining Drug & getting the Drug) even at their own expense (Self-Destruction). Extreme Narcissism, Selfishness and Insensitivity is one of the Major Focuses of our Treatment. We have Successfully Taught the Addict (The Narcissistic Addict ) that the World Dose Not Revolve around them and that they must learn to get in touch with their Feeling, which they will need to be able to Relate to their Partners Painful Feelings. This will in turn, give them the ability to Feel another Persons Hurt Feeling, which will in turn, get them to Feel Compassion, Empathy and Sensitivity for their Partners Painful Feelings.
One of the advantages of our Practice is that we have recognized that the Traditional once a week counseling for Addictions just Does Not Work. Therefore, we feel that our Private Workshops gave our client more time to receive help & guidance. As a result, this could change their behaviors & our clients would be able to discuss their urges and triggers at length.
MOST OF ALL, WE OFFER A *INTENSE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAM* WHICH IS DESIGNED & INTENDED TO KEEP OUR CLIENTS OUT OF INPATIENT HOSPITALIZATION AND KEEP THEM FUNCTIONING WITH THEIR FAMILY WHILE CONTINUING THEIR JOBS.
